The logo Sound in Theory designed for the Hippo plays on the venue’s homograph name - using an oxpecker bird (which traditionally sits on hippos in the wild) as a quirky identifier that can be removed from the text.
The branding's brown colour palette is a twist on the traditional live music venue black - invoking a creative, arty feel, yet meeting all the criteria of a classic rock venue.
The new branding tested brilliantly with the right target market, and has been applied to the website and print materials Sound in Theory created for the Hippo.
