EmanuelHendry specialises in providing high quality construction carpentry to customers around the South West UK. Founded by brothers Oscar and Jasper Emanuel, and friend Joel Hendry, EmanuelHendry work from their Devon workshop to craft a range of structures from wood – from timber architecture to oak framed houses.
After local artists AbeySmallcombe (who Sound in Theory created the website and printed materials for in 2008) recommended us, EmanuelHendry approached Sound in Theory. They needed someone to create a brand and website for them that would increase their company’s online presence and widen their client base, whilst establishing EmanuelHendry as committed, environmentally conscious, quality craftsmen with broad appeal.
Although EmanuelHendry was a new company, Oscar, Jasper and Joel had previously owned their own separate businesses. We moved away from their existing companies’ outdated branding to something cleaner and more professional for EmanuelHendry, but did maintain the eco-friendliness and tradition that their previous brands evoked – reflected in the roofed building icon. To capture the precise nature of their work, this icon looks elegant and intricate, yet is balanced with a chunky house graphic capital font for ‘EmanuelHendry’ to reflect the strength and durability of the timber structures they create. A simple earthy colour palette reinforces the environmentally-conscious, earthy and traditional nature of their company, as well as the wooden materials they work with.
Sound in Theory designed Emanuelhendry.com with this branding – a simple, clean, strong and easy to navigate website that showcases the range of work they do and a bit of information about them. The lads had some brilliant stock and their increasing portfolio was strong, so the photography leads the website – crisp flash slideshows showing the range of beautiful timber structures that they can create to full effect.
