Miss L Fire

Miss L Fire is a remarkable designer based in London, whose beautiful collection of shoes and handbags are stocked all over the world, from Paris to Tokyo, Israel to Canada. She looked to Sound in Theory to bring her fine shoes and handbags to life on the web, in a way that maintains the popular Miss L Fire brand.

We worked with Exeter artist George Barron to create a flash website that fulfils Miss L Fire’s requirements with elegance and attention to detail. Drawing on Miss L Fire’s fantastic range of shoes and handbags, Misslfire.com invites users to linger and browse, with a design that maximises both aesthetic impact and functionality, and marvellously reflects her passion for 1940s & 50s Hollywood style.

A dressmaking pattern forms the backdrop to the full-flash site, unfolding at the website’s introduction and providing a warm texture for the background of each section. Invoking ideas of quality, dedicated craft and vintage elegance, it serves as the perfect reminder of Miss L Fire shoes and handbags. With beautiful illustrations and prints marked onto the dressmaking pattern, as well as section links that look and move like volume dials, any visitor to Misslfire.com is invited to dive between the pages. As the website features deep linking, visitors can navigate between these pages using the internet browser’s forward and back buttons.

Throughout the design and development, Sound in Theory worked closely with Miss L Fire to ensure all aspects of the site cultivate and deliver the Miss L Fire brand – and it is this close attention to detail that truly sets Misslfire.com apart. From the gallery of handbags featuring mock-Polaroid photographs to the list of worldwide nearest stockists created as flags on clothes hangers; Misslfire.com provides pure aesthetic pleasure to any visitors. The site also uses an engaging colour scheme that adheres to Miss L Fire’s colour palette and compliments the site’s layout.

The CMS-driven site’s content includes Miss L Fire’s catalogue of shoes and handbags, a gallery of Miss L Fire & friends and a press cuttings section that includes articles featured in a variety of magazines (from Vogue Pelle to Heat).

Client Testimonial

We have been working with Sound in Theory on a variety of projects now for the past two years. The largest project was the design and build of our website in 2008. We knew that we needed an original, eye-catching site to help with the promotion of our Miss L Fire brand worldwide. Sound in Theory recommended an amazing graphic artist, George Barron, to help to give our site a particularly unique look, and then mixed George’s work with their own graphic work, and of course, our corporate image and product, and the result, we feel, is fantastic! Sound in Theory certainly delivered a result far beyond our expectations on this project, and delivered on time and within budget, which is extremely important to us as a fast-moving but small fashion company. Following the website design & build, we have worked with Sound in Theory on the design of a variety of projects, including the design of promotional flyers, show invitations and a very well-received calendar.
