Piglet Cottage is a Devon-based catering service that provides delicious traditional hog roasts and barbeques to customers throughout the South West. Offering a range of menus, Piglet Cottage caters for a range of events, from weddings to corporate events, farmers markets to jazz concerts. Seeking to raise his company’s profile, Piglet Cottage’s founder, Shaun McCahearty, approached Sound in Theory for a website.
The small, flat website we created is a brilliant example of what Sound in Theory can produce on a very minimal budget – Shaun had less than £500 to spend. With inventiveness and ingenuity, we created a simple site that mirrors Shaun’s trustworthy and professional approach to events catering. Featuring serif fonts and an organic colour palette, Pigletcottage.com also beautifully reflects Piglet Cottage’s rustic nature.
Delighted with the website, Shaun approached Sound in Theory again to do a little SEO and copywriting work. The revised content and SEO strategy we implemented shows the improvements just a few hours of work can make. The copy is now more engaging and concise – explaining about the full range of services Piglet Cottage offers, whilst making the hog roasts sound as enticing as possible to the reader. As Piglet Cottage only operates in the South West, the location-specific SEO targets Devon, Cornwall, the South West and the West Country. Since launch, this SEO strategy has propelled Pigletcottage.com into the top ten Google rankings for ‘South West hog roast(s)’, ‘hog roasts South West’, ‘hog roasts Devon’ and Westcountry hog roast(s)’.
The website Sound in Theory created ensures Piglet Cottage has a constant flow of customers requesting hog roasts for a range of events, and Shaun’s business continues to go from strength to strength.
