Laurance Traverso is Traverso – a Genoa-born musician who plays acoustic rock music with an age-old American twang. He has built a strong following touring throughout Europe, where ha has toured for the last five years, and released his first single ‘Crash’ in November 2008. 2009 sees the launch of Traverso’s debut album ‘From the Beginning’, a personal, emotional album that was produced by top dog Clif Norrell (REM, Jeff Buckley, Sting) in his Malibu studio, and features a host of talented musicians that have played for Tenacious D, Idlewild and Verbena.
Traverso required a website that would keep his loyal following informed and up-to-date about all his latest news, gigs and releases; whilst providing a showcase of his music for any visitors to the site scouting for musicians to book. The site required a look and feel that evoked Traverso’s enduring acoustic roots, yet establishes him as a relevant musician with contemporary appeal.
Sound in Theory created a full-flash website for Traverso that captures the spirit of his music beautifully. Featuring black and white images of San Francisco and Clif's Malibu studio on each page’s background, warm oak colouring throughout the site and pages that appear on a slide projector (in time with soft background sound effects), visiting Traverso.co.uk feels like visiting vintage America and sipping on a glass of bourbon. The warm, atmospheric site features a flash music player that plays three Traverso tracks, a flash media gallery that showcases a range of Traverso’s photos, and biography and news pages that keep existing and future fans informed and updated on Traverso’s antics.
The content managed website is easily updateable, to ensure Traverso can keep the news, gig listing and photo gallery up-to-date with just a few clicks.
