Global Vision International
Overseas Volunteering
Copywriting for print adverts and multiple websites
GVI required web and brochure copy that would attract new participants, while explain with awareness and cultural sensitivity about the important work they do. Sound in Theory proofread, researched and updated GVI’s substantial existing content (in both UK and US versions), and created compelling descriptions for each destination GVI operates in. The SEO-driven, streamlined website content now engages, entices and informs its reader. Reading trumps searching as information comes to the surface, on both GVI’s websites and printing materials. By editing and refining GVI’s brochure copy with an understanding of the layout, it communicates with more appeal and precision on far fewer pages.
Yomps Adventure Travel
Adventure Travel Company
Sound in Theory updated the extensive amount of existing web copy of adventure travel company Yomps. Paying close attention to the Yomps’ brand, we analysed the grammar, punctuation, structure and style of their huge range of volunteering trips. Each researched and revised itinerary contains more description and animation, for copy that reads with an increased sense of place and adventure. Since launch, the SEO-driven content has increased yomps.co.uk to the number one position for ‘volunteering trip’, and top ten positions for ‘adventure overseas’, ‘gap year programs’ and ‘career break’. We also created the copy for Yomps’ media and print materials, which captures the reader with excitement and intrigue.
Piglet Cottage
Hog Roast Specialist
Piglet Cottage provides delicious traditional hog roasts and barbeques for a range of events, throughout the South West. They needed their existing copy proofread and updated for maximum search engine optimisation, to target the local South West area, including Devon and Cornwall. Sound in Theory’s revision of the copy has propelled pigletcottage.com into the top ten Google ranking for ‘South West hog roast(s)’, ‘hog roasts South West’, ‘Devon hog roast(s)’, ‘hog roasts Devon’ and ‘Westcountry traditional hog roast(s)’.
Lily-peds
Lily-Peds Cycle Rickshaw Service
Lily-Peds is a rickshaw company based in Exeter, Devon, which offers a green and stylish alternative to transportation. They required Sound in Theory to proofread their web copy so it explains with clarity about their rickshaw service and the cycle training they run for anyone who wants to do some pedalling themselves. With attention to style and SEO-optimisation, we fulfilled their requirements, whilst reflecting Lily-Peds hands-on approach to tackling environmental issues and their message: not only are sustainable means of transportation better for the environment, everything feels better when you pedal!
Selected Fiction by Malcolm Bradley
These selected extracts are from several projects undertaken by Malcolm Bradley, beginning in 2001 with “Eclipsed”, a light-hearted novella about the end of the world, through to his current ongoing novel, “Sector 9G”, a futuristic romance exploring the search for identity in an increasingly homogenised Europe, which is currently in its first draft. Also included here is the entire script of “Summerland”, a short film which was made in 2007, and extracts from the short horror story “Ella Falls” as well as from his first novel, “Promenade”.
