Global Vision International
Overseas Volunteering
Designed and built a number of large scale websites
Sound in Theory worked with ethical volunteering organisation Global Vision International (GVI) to improve their existing UK and US websites, so they are more accessible and engaging. GVI needed websites that would attract people to join the volunteer programmes they run, whilst capturing GVI's unique commitment to the 2,000 volunteers they send on trips worldwide and the countries they operate in. We created the entire backend for the new sites to enable GVI to easily update the sites and add to and amend their ever-increasing number of new trips. A custom built admin system allows GVI to track and manage payments in four different currencies.
Miss L Fire
London Based Shoe & Handbag Designer
Full Flash Website
Miss L Fire needed a website to showcase her exquisite range of shoes and handbags and reflect her passion for 1940's & 50's Hollywood style. This is the first flash website we've produced to utilise deep linking...which (for the non flash developers out there) means that you can navigate between pages using your internet browsers forward and back buttons. Just one of the many cool features of this retro flash site. Check it out
Yomps Adventure Travel
Adventure Travel Operator
Design and build a large scale CMS driven Website
The adventure travel company Yomps required a website to showcase their 100+ trips, which would be accessible, informative and engaging enough to stand out in the competitive volunteer travel market. The Yomps site is designed to deliver a dynamic and interactive experience, including a searchable world map, photo gallery and online booking system. It also features a comprehensive CMS that enables Yomps to easily add to, update and amend the site, making weekly or seasonal changes easy to manage. Since launch the website has increased to the number one position in the search engine rankings for ‘volunteering trip’ and ‘adventure overseas’.
Louhannah Bar & Lounge
Trendy London Bar/Restaurant
Full Flash Website
Nothing quite tempts people into your establishment than a website that shows its visitors just what they could enjoy when they come. The full-flash website Sound in Theory created for the bar and lounge Louhannah is designed with this in mind, and reflects the vibrant, fun nature of the Putney-based establishment. We reconstructed the whole bar in a 3D modelling program and then created an animated fly-through for each section of the site, including an image gallery positioned on the bar wall, a drinks menu that appears as a poured drink, and an animated food menu and location map.
Jenral
Music People
A full flash website
The Jenral Group comprises of a music management company, a music publishing company, a record label and event organisers (who organise a range of events, from music festivals to snowboarding competitions). The full screen flash website we created brings all of these areas of the business together effectively and interactively, by presenting each section as a different colour. Character animation was applied to Jenral’s ninja logo, allowing the ninja to ‘physically’ manipulate each of these sections and the transitions between them. These impressive transitions use a combination of hard-animated and maths-generated effects.
Audio Antics
Music production for video games
Full Flash Website
When you’re a music production company who specialise in making music for video games, it is important that your web presence portrays you in an up-to-date and technologically-savvy way. Sound in Theory created an engaging website for Audio Antics that captures the contemporary and innovative nature of their company, yet which visitors can navigate easily. The stylish site features a flash cinematic introduction, a unique and involving interface, and an interactive music player that showcases Audio Antics’ work.
Flatline Festival
Snowboard, Freeski & Music Festival
A Static Website with Flash Elements
The organisers of the Flatline Snowboard and Music Festival asked Sound in Theory to create a website that will entice people to their inaugural event, after rejecting the site design of a previous company they employed, finding it did not reflect the scale or quality of their festival. With a limited timescale and budget, we created a website that captures the festival’s cool, contemporary and youthful edge, and draws together its main components: music and extreme winter sports. The site features an animated flash homepage, a music player that features acts on the line-up and a news section that the Flatline team can update.
Think Fitness
Sports Performance Specialist
Design and build an HTML website
Think Fitness is a sports performance company who work with elite athletes, including players from Chelsea FC and Manchester United FC. As they are dedicated to improving levels of performance, Think Fitness needed an online presence that reflects the professional and driven nature of their company. Sound in Theory has created a stylish website for Think Fitness that is rich in images and information, whilst being easy and intuitive to navigate.
Nuala & The Alchemy Quartet
Devon based folk band
Eccentric Flash Website
Devon-based band Nuala & the Alchemy Quartet required a website that would provide information about them and their forthcoming gigs, whilst reflecting the band’s music. Sound in Theory has cultivated a colourful site that has a unique, organic feel, which captures Nuala & the Alchemy Quartet’s folk-roots, and provides an engaging fan experience, containing features (such as the gramophone music player) that visitors control themselves. The site also includes a news section that allows the band to update fans on what they are up to.
Abey Smallcombe
Experts in Earth Art & Architecture
A Portfolio Website With Flash Elements
Southwest artists Jackie Abey and Jill Smallcombe wanted a website to profile their extensive portfolio of work and provide some background information about their business. Their craft works with cob, earth plasters and other natural beautiful, sustainable materials, which have fantastic colours and textures. As they have so many striking images of this work, we decided abeysmallcombe.com should show it off as simply as possible in a large, clean and easily updateable slideshow, whilst ensuring the information is easy to find and the site simple to navigate.
Leonie Roques
Personal Training Geared towards pre & post natal women
A simple HTML website
After Sound in Theory worked with Leonie Roques to create the branding for her personal fitness company, Leonie asked us to produce a simple, easy to navigate website profiling her personal training. We have constructed an information-rich website that captures Leonie’s encouraging, knowledgeable and motivated approach to personal training, and her philosophy that everyone has the capacity to lead a fit and healthy life. The accessible site is given extra impact by using plenty of excellent images taken by our resident photographer Ben Smith.
